【Remark 1】Introduction / イントロダクション

本日念願のブログを開設しました。

現在カリフォルニア大学サンディエゴ校に留学中の池田裕一です。

2009年の秋学期から、

民族学部で主にアメリカにおける国民意識の形成過程、

アメリカ社会における移民問題について勉強しています。


さて、このブログに関してですが、

現代の日本社会において日本人とはどういった人を指すのか。

日本人という概念はいつ頃形成され、

現在ではどのような意味を持っているのか。

このような問題をアメリカにおける事例との比較を通して解明し、

最終的に日本人という概念の定義を導き出す事を目標とします。


また、情報を日本と世界に効率よく発信できるよう、

このブログは英語と日本語のバイリンガルで

進めていきたいと思っています。

I finally started my blog today.

My name is Hirokazu Ikeda, currently studying abroad

at University of California, San Diego.

I am majoring in Ethnic Studies here,

mainly studying on the national formation and

the current immigrant issues in the United States.


Anyways, this blog aims at redefining Japanese

by examining who are considered as Japanese

in the modern Japanese society,

when the concept of Japanese was created and

what means to be Japanese today in Japan.


In addition, I am planning to make the blog bilingual,

Japanese and English,

so that I can share information with people

in Japan and also in the world efficiently.
